After treatment there might be some side-effects such as a light redness, swelling, tenderness in the treated area.  This is a normal result of the product injection.  These are temporary and generally disappear within a day or two.

 

Apply a cool pack to the treated area; this will reduce the initial swelling.  You will also be given Arnica Gel.

 

If you are having lip treatment, initial swelling may last longer.  It will last for about 7 days and the lips may look somewhat uneven during this time, therefore the result directly after the treatment should not be seen as the final result,

 

Avoid smoking for at least 6 hours post treatment, longer if possible.

Avoid exercise and alcohol for 24 hours post treatment.

 

Avoid touching the treated area within 6 hours following treatment.  After that, light make up can be applied.

 

Area can be gently washed with soap and water, but avoid vigorous massage or pressure until settled.

 

Do not expose the treated area to intense heat i.e. sunbathing/sunbeds or extreme coldness.

 

If you are using Aspirin or any similar medication, be aware that this may increase the risk of bruising or bleeding at the injection site.

 

Discomfort after your treatment is expected.  Paracetamol and your cool pack will help this to subside.

 

For those who suffer with cold sores, please be aware that having such a treatment can cause an eruption so speak to your pharmacy immediately to treat the cold sores.
